convertxto dvd is certainly the easiest and gives good menus but the quality of cinema craft encoder is by far the best quality. if the file does not open in CCE you can frameserve any file type using avisynth along with the correct plugin or the easier option is install ripbot and go to the temp folder and use the avs file that is already there and import that into cce just make sure the resize is correct 720x576 for pal incase the file is weird size also make sure convert to correct colorspace so you do not get an error. and then author using your fav prog mine is dvdlabpro.

I use WinAVI myself. You can download it from here:

http://www.winavi.com/en/video-conve...-converter.htm

It's easy to use, and you can trial it first before buying it (although the trial puts a lovely big ad to buy the proper version right in the middle of the screen of everything you convert!). And it does batch files with ease too, which is a huge plus for me.

all these programs are great to get the job done on the fly but if you really want to get things tweaked out i would go for Cinema Craft encoder to get all video to MPEG2 compliant excelent quality, even lets you import avisynth, export it to DVD arquitect, no recoding necessary & built yourself a profesional menu, which would be the only thing transcoded, at least thats how i  do it when i have time LOL

you should really check out dvdflick www.dvdflick.net as it is great open source (FREE) software, easier and better than convertxtodvd; takes a bit longer to do conversion, but no hassle with mkv, subtitles, etc. You should give it a try.

I use ConvertXtoDVD could not be easier - make a menu how you want it too.
